The Rolex Deepsea 116660 James Cameron is a special edition watch created to commemorate the filmmaker’s journey to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in 2012. The watch features a “D-Blue” dial, a gradient that transitions from a rich blue to a deep black, reminiscent of the ocean’s depths. The “Deepsea” inscription is in the same shade of green as Cameron’s submersible, adding a unique aesthetic touch. This watch boasts exceptional water resistance, up to 3,900 metres (12,765 ft), thanks to its robust stainless steel case and the Ringlock System case construction. The 44mm case is substantial and features a 5.5mm thick sapphire crystal. The helium escape valve is recessed into the case side, maintaining a sleek profile. Powered by the automatic Calibre 3135, the watch is both durable and reliable. The James Cameron Deepsea is a tribute to a remarkable achievement and a testament to Rolex’s engineering expertise.

Should you buy now, or wait? I don’t think there’s any need to wait anymore, prices are nice and stable, especially on the everyday pieces, like steel GMT’s, Submariner’s and Datejust models. Gold pieces are representing crazy value, now prices increased at retail, just a few days ago. They certainly won’t be getting any cheaper, after that.
